Upon successful completion, trainees may be considered for permanent positions as Metro Police or Traffic Officers within the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department.
Requirements for JMPD Traffic Officer Programme 2025
To qualify for this life-changing opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Possess a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Have a valid driver’s license (minimum Code B, not a learner’s)
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Provide proof of residency
- Be physically and mentally fit (medical certificate required)
- Have no criminal record or civil judgments
- Be willing to undergo biometric screening
- Be fluent in English
- Be able to pass a pre-training fitness assessment
- Willing to carry a firearm, wear a uniform, and work shift hours in all weather conditions
